They collaborated on two tracks- the futuristic love songs “Show Me A Good Time,” and “Find Your Love.” With West holding down production, deep-pocketed 808's and table-top scratch sounds were highlighted.ĭrake's heart is taken, and he'll pull out a grand public gesture to show it. The six-minute video set in Jamaica has a mean plot twist that I will not ruin.Īfter meeting in 2009, the duo came together to bring Drake's Thank Me Later album to the next level. The girl, played by model Maliah Michel, is actually sleeping with the enemy (reggae star Mavado). In the video, which was filmed in Kingston, Drake pursues a would-be love who is already attached to dancehall artist Mavado, who plays a crime lord by the name of "Puffy." It almost feels like the song should be performed by a woman. In a later interview with MTV News Drake said that he felt the song should have been performed by a woman, stating, "Find Your Love is an extremely vulnerable song. "Find Your Love" was originally written for Rihanna.
With all of this said I like his music because it’s good and I want to like it for that, not because there is a room full of product researchers making this nigga dance like a puppet. He though will get all the glory because he’s not just getting out of jail, he’s not rushing stages and attacking middle America’s princess and he ain’t talking about cocaine.
I’m willing to bet all of these ppl will have better “hip-hop” albums then Drake.
Just wait and see TI is coming out, Kanye is coming out plus Jeezy and Rick Ross are dropping. Going against the rappers he will get it because he is the safe bet. Just put this kid up against the pop acts and see how many times they are willing to give it too him.
I don’t respect that ppl will put you in a box because you say I’m a rapper then love you because your not rapping. I like the singing but I felt a way about that type of thing since Lauren Hill dropped because she got some much praise and so many awards in the hip-hop and rap categories when she had two rap songs on her album. Now I’m not mad at that to be honest, I’m more uncomfortable with the fact that this is where we are in music. The Noid That seems (forever) to be the bait, I think a lot of ppl will buy into this kid as a rap savior and he’s really just a huge marketing plan. There’s no rapping on this…I can respect that but…that ‘heyyyy heyyyyy heyyyyy’ shit is so played out with s like the fans were expecting something EPICCCC like OVER…ĭrake is still good money tho, I think Young Money is giving him alot of freedom with his creativity, so hopefully this won’t jeopardize his career…hopefully the video is really dope.and the next single he chooses is just going to BLOW EVERYBODY AWAY. The beat for FIND YOUR LOVE is so 808 sounding it’s ridiculous… NOBODY HAS EVER HEARD A BEAT LIKE THAT EVERRRRR. UNDENIABLE.not iffy.if your iffy, its like damn.I don’t know if this is going to work…then you drop it and it doesn’t, then your let down. When you have a buzz as big as drake, everyone is expecting everything to be EPIC. People love Drake, we have to let him learn from his mistakes and grow into the artist he wants to be truly.and if this is him, cool.but I don’t even think he thinks this is him. I’m a drake fan.and off the first listen, I was let down, just because it’s sounds like something from 808s…If Kanye is making beats like “Thank You” by Jay Z and shit like that…that’s is a NEW SOUND.I feel like I went back in past with those drums and that ‘heyyyyy heyyyyy heyyyyyyyyyyy’ melody. I’m pretty sure Drake has a lot of yes men around him, so it clouds his judgment…just the fact that he worked with KANYE WEST is amazing in itself but sometimes that may blind the artist. (lists)…and this is what’s good about it…(lists)….and this is why people won’t like it” DRAKE WILL BE GOOD, BEING IN THE GAME IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE…YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO WILL BE HONEST WITH YOU ABOUT YOUR MUSIC BEFORE YOU RELEASE IT.I’M NOT SURE IF DRAKE HAS TOO MANY PEOPLE AROUND HIM THAT SAY HEY “I’m honestly not feeling this, no disrespect to you or the genius of Kanye West…but this is what is bad about it.
